Dania Al-Obaidi is a Toronto-based artist and educator whose work is inspired by the richness of both old and new world aesthetics. She studied Fine Arts at Baghdad University and has continued her artistic development in Canada, exhibiting across North America and internationally.

From an early age, Al-Obaidi perceived the world through an artistic lens, drawn to colour, emotion, and expression. Best known for her abstract paintings, she works with bold combinations of materials and colour to create layered, expressive compositions. Her practice often centres on encaustic wax, a historic medium that allows each layer to carry depth and memory. Working across canvas, wood, and handmade paper, she explores texture and materiality to create work that is both tactile and emotive.
