PAINTING
Judith A. Mason is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist, performer, and educator with a career spanning more than 45 years. Born in Ireland, her creative practice is informed by a family heritage of knitting, crochet, and tatting—craft traditions that continue to influence her layered, intuitive approach to artmaking.
Drawing inspiration from music, literature, spirituality, and lived experience, Mason's work unfolds through a process of accumulation, reflection, and discovery. Rich in texture, her paintings explore profound themes of creation, transformation, mortality, and the human experience. Recent series have examined the six bardos of The Tibetan Book of the Dead, inviting contemplation of death as a natural part of life's journey, as well as the biblical Seven Days of Creation, exploring beginnings, meaning, and our relationship to the world around us.
