THE ARRIVAL AND EXIT OF THE GREENLAND VIKINGS (Inquire for price)
The Vikings first settled in Greenland under Erik the Red and his followers, establishing thriving colonies in the southern part of the island. These settlements endured for several centuries, but began to decline with the onset of the Little Ice Age (1200-1800). By 1300 AD, the colonies had collapsed. While the colder climate contributed to farming difficulties, the Vikings' departure was more heavily influenced by pressure from their church, the loss of support from their homeland, and the cessation of resupply ships.
