This circular sculpted disc illustrates the Viking world through a blend of myth and daily life. The lower section features legendary scenes: Odin being devoured by Fenrir the giant wolf, Sigurd slaying a dragon, and Beowulf defeating Grendel. Also present are the three Norns mystical weavers of fate who shape the web of life.
The upper section portrays early settlers in Iceland engaged in hunting, whaling, and farming. These everyday activities are carved alongside mythological figures on the outstretched wings of a gyrfalcon, forming a circular frame. Within this design, families harvest crops, a hunter captures a falcon on the cliffs, and a whale hunt unfolds, capturing the spirit of Viking life in Iceland, Greenland, and the New World
