THE END OF THE ROAD
This painting reflects the current state of the circumpolar world. Inuit and other peoples in these regions are witnessing a world in chaos, with seasonal cycles and animal migrations becoming increasingly out of sync. Thinning ice affects hunting, fishing, and transportation, as well as cultural and food security. In the painting, a group of Inuit is shown huddled on a sled with no clear direction - a metaphor for a vanishing world, represented by their shadowed figures.
