Ragnarok is the Norse myth of the end of days - a great battle where gods, giants, and monsters clash in a final, world-ending conflict. The result is the destruction of the mythic world of ancient Scandinavia.
Some gods, foreseeing this cataclysm, secretly plant the seeds of humanity deep within the forest. After the chaos of Ragnarok, a young boy and girl emerge from the primeval woods to begin a life anew.
In another version of the myth, a man and woman survive by sheltering within the branches of Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life. Following distruction, they emerge along with resurrected gods, who return to help restore balance and renew the world.
